I am excited to share this extremely easy – Oven roasted garlic Brussels sprouts with balsamic glaze & almonds recipe with you today. My son just loves it as an after school snack too, healthy indeed.
Nutty , crunchy Brussels sprouts roasted in the oven with garlic tastes absolutely yum ,but what makes them irresistible is the easy maple balsamic glaze . These healthy beauties make an excellent appetizer or a side dish for your dinner or entertaining the guests. And a sprinkle of almonds is like icing on the cake plus more nutrition .
Does it sound complicated, I promise it’s super easy and a large batch of roasted Brussels sprouts comes together within 30 minutes with just 10 minute preparation time included. Rest just pop it in the oven and forget it for 20 minutes and toss them generously with the glaze.
Make sure to make a big batch as these tiny tangy sprouts will be gobbled up in a flash.
This side dish is vegan and gluten free too.
There are so many ways and combinations to enjoy Brussels sprouts out of which the one I am sharing today with you is my favorite one.
I did not know about Brussels sprouts until I moved to the US . The very 1 st time we had it at a restaurant and now hooked on it forever.
Seriously who doesn’t like healthy plus yummy side dishes.
Don’t underestimate these mini cabbages. Brussel sprouts are packed with Vitamin K , C , magnesium , Vitamin B , protein , fiber and so much more.
Did you know a cup of Brussels sprouts have about 4 grams of protein and fibre , and it is less than 60 calories.
You can either roast the sprouts in the oven or pan fry them, either ways they turn out to be delicious .
Do not over cook Brussels sprouts as they will smell and taste awful .

Cleaning brussels sprouts is very easy. As they are compact mini cabbages , dirt doesn’t get into them easily . Do not soak them in water . Just rinse them in a colander and dry them with a kitchen towel . Cut off the bottom ends , pull out the outer leaf layer and slice in half or quarters lengthwise or as you prefer.
Oven roasted garlic Brussels sprouts with balsamic glaze & almonds
Ingredients
- 1 lb 600 grams Brussels sprouts cleaned and sliced in half
- 3 cloves of garlic sliced *
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon salt or to taste
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- For balsamic glaze to coat
- 3 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon maple Syrup *
- Fistful of sliced almonds.
Instructions
- Pre heat the oven at 425 degree f .
- Line a baking pan/ sheet with foil and lightly brush with oil.
- Meanwhile ,in a big bowl mix Brussels sprouts, olive oil , salt , pepper and garlic and coat well .
- Transfer the sprouts to the lined baking sheet cut side down and spread evenly.
- Bake in a pre heated oven for about 20 minutes , stirring once in between.
- Bake until the sprouts starts to brown , become tender and crisp .
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven
- For the glaze
- In a separate bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, olive oil and maple syrup until mixed well.
- Drizzle the glaze on the sprouts and coat well .
- Sprinkle sliced almonds.
- Serve warm .
Notes
Substitute maple syrup with agave , honey or sugar.
You may skip nuts or add nuts of your choice.
Nutrition
Not in a mood to roast them in the oven then you can even pan fry them in a heavy bottom pan. Either ways this side dish tastes super delicious.
